Winsor and Newton Inks

Winsor & Newton Calligraphy Inks are a range of professional quality inks specifically designed for writing and calligraphy needs. The range consists of 18 vibrant colours including 4 special colours (Matt Black, White, Gold and Silver) offers the widest range available for use with a Dip or Fountain Pen.

All the inks have been formulated with carefully chosen pigments ensuring maximum brilliance of colour and wherever possible single pigments have been used to give clean colour mixtures. Calligraphy Inks have been formulated to provide an unrivalled level of permanence and quality, all colours having a permanence rating of AA or A.

The colours are non waterproof to ensure that they are non clogging and have good flow characteristics when used in a Fountain or Dip Pen. 14 of the colours (identified by blue capped bottles) are suitable for use with a Dip Pen, Fountain Pen, Technical Pen or Airbrush. These colours are fully intermixable. 4 colours (identified by red capped bottles) are suitable for use with a Dip Pen or Brush, again these colours are intermixable with each other. Layout paper is recommended for practice work. Smooth cartridge paper or hot pressed water colour paper for finished pieces. Always replace the cap on a fountain or technical pen to prevent the ink drying in the nib. Should the inks be allowed to dry they can be cleaned with Winsor & Newton Airbrush Cleaning Fluid.
