Airbrushes

The modern airbrush is used to produce artwork on cars, bikes, helmets, masks, guitars, T-shirts, in the kid’s bedroom, nails, body art, and even, sometimes, on pieces of paper! Whatever you want to airbrush it is essential to know the basics, and practice the basics if you want to achieve results you will be proud of.

Practicing the dots, lines, and dagger strokes over and over again will open up a world of possibilities that only airbrushing can produce. There are lots of free resources online covering the basic lessons. There are galleries dedicated to airbrushing that will leave you amazed at the skill of the airbrush artist but also hopefully inspired to develop your own skills to a similar level.

It is possible to put together a simple kit quite modestly with a single action airbrush and a couple of cans of air. If however you are intent on becoming an airbrush artist it might be better to and to save having to replace equipment it might be better to buy a better kit from the beginning. A dual action airbrush with compressor will be a little more difficult to start with but will meet your needs for much longer.

The compressor will also save you a fortune on cans of air when you start painting the living room mural. Cleanliness and care are two more keywords in airbrushing. Using quality paints and keeping the airbrush clean will provide a consistent flow of paint. Careful handling will guard against accidental damage which can impair the correct operation.
