Compressors and Air Supplies
Unless you buy one of the Ready to Go Kits (Badger 250-3, 200-3) which are supplied with Badger Air Propellant a further decision needs to be made about the type of air source you will use to power it.
There are 3 types of air source that can be used to power an airbrush - compressor, rechargeable reservoir (such as a rubber tyre) or various sizes of aerosols containing propellant.
There are at least 5 factors to consider: Initial Cost of purchase, Running costs, Efficiency and ease of use, Noise, Present and future needs.
Aerosols are a comparatively expensive way of buying what is essentially free - air. There is no gauge on the side to tell you how much air is left. It may be ok moving a car wheel backwards and forwards from the shed but just try getting it upstairs to the spare room.. (!)
Compressors, although initially a larger outlay, provide the cheapest and most reliable constant source of air in the long term.
So, having decided that a compressor is the best long term choice - which compressor?
